As the CEO of an executive search firm in the information security industry, the past twenty years have provided me with a unique perspective. Although information security, like information technology in general, is historically male-dominated, the number of women working in security-related positions is steadily growing. A significant number of women now hold positions of influence within the government and corporate community. There has been a desire voiced for some time now within this community for an opportunity to meet and network with other women in security, to exchange advice, information and experiences in order to progress in our chosen careers.
To satisfy this desire, in 2003 the first-ever Executive Women’s Forum on Information Security was organized for leaders in information security, privacy and risk management.
The Forum was held at the Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa http://www.sanibel-resort.com/ in Sanibel Island, Florida and was a smash success! It began with a waterfront cocktail party followed by two intense days of panel discussions, case studies, success stories and a tremendous amount of bonding.
Our 125 participants included CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, Chief Privacy Officers, Chief Risk Officers, Senior Security Architects, Principal Engineers, and heads of Research and Development. These executives came from all industry verticals, with many of the Fortune 500 represented.
The Executive Women’s Forum has quickly become the de facto venue for top level female executives to gather and network.
The 2004 Executive Women’s Forum is once again being held at the Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa on September 8th through the 10th. I highly recommend that not only do you join us for the conference, you stay the weekend and enjoy the lush spa facilities.
To request an invitation and determine your eligibility to participate in this event, please fill out the on-line application form.
I look forward to seeing you at the Forum!
Sincerely,
